How to access my voicemail from my Iridium terminal?
The procedure for accessing you voicemail from an Iridium terminal is:
- 1. Dial 008816 6299 0000
- 2. Follow the instructions by entering the phone number (omitting the first two zeros) of your terminal
- 3. Interrupt the next message by pressing the * key
- 4. Enter your password at the next prompt. The default password is the last 7 digits of you phone number
- 5. Follow the pre-recorded instructions
How to setup Iridium SMS?
Before a subscriber can send an SMS message from the Iridium system, the Iridium SMS service center number must be stored on the SIM card. To store the Iridium Service Center Number: Press the Envelope Key on the handset. Use the Scroll Key to select the ‘Message Settings’ option. Press OK. Use the Scroll Key to select the ‘Service Centre’ option. Press OK. Enter 00881662900005 or +881662900005. Press OK. The phone will momentarily display “Completed”.
I cannot make calls with my Iridium 9505A?
- Check the antenna. Is it fully extended and rotated? Do you have a clear unobstructed view of the sky?
- Did you enter the number in international format? All calls made from the Iridium satellite network must be in international format (eg. 0031..).
- Check the signal strength indicator in the display. If the signal is weak, ensure that you have a clear line of sight to the sky and there are no buildings, trees, etc. around.
- Try to register manually.
- Is restricted displayed? Check the call barring settings.
- Has a new SIM card been inserted? Check that no new restrictions have been imposed.
- Check to see if your fixed dialing list is enabled. If so, you can only make calls to numbers or prefixes that are on the list.
I cannot receive calls with my Iridium 9505A?
- Check to see that your phone is powered on.
- Check the antenna. Is it fully extended and rotated? Do you have a clear unobstructed view of the sky?
- Check the signal strength indicator in the display. If the signal is weak, ensure that you have a clear line of sight to the sky and there are no buildings, trees, etc. around.
- Check the call forwarding and call barring settings.
- Check the ringer settings. If it is off, there is no audible ringer.
My Iridium 9505A will not unlock?
- Have you inserted a new SIM card? Enter the new PIN code.
- Check your registration form to see if you are using the correct PIN code.
The PIN of my Iridium 9505A is blocked?
- If your PIN code is entered incorrectly three times in a row, blocked appears in your display. You need to enter a PIN unblocking key (PUK1), which is mentioned on your registration form or can obtain from 2connect-IT.
1. Press **05*.
2. Enter unblocking key. Enter the eight-digit PUK1 unblocking key and press ok.
3. Enter a new PIN code and then press ok.
4. Re-enter the new PIN code and then press ok.
The SIM card in my Iridium 9505A will not work?
- Is the SIM card inserted the correct way?
- Is the SIM card visibly damaged or scratched? Please contact 2connect-IT.
- Check the SIM phone contacts. If they are dirty, clean them with an antistatic cloth.
The battery of my Iridium 9505A won't charge?
- Check the charger. Is it properly connected? Are its contacts clean and dry?
- Check the battery contacts. Are they clean and dry?
- Check the battery temperature. If it is warm, let it cool before recharging.
- Is it an old battery? Battery performance declines after several years of use. Replace battery.
- Make sure you have a Iridium approved battery installed. If you see invalid batt. in the display, you will not be able to charge this battery.
The battery of my Iridium 9505A drains faster than normal?
- Are you in an area of variable coverage? This uses extra battery power.
- Is it a new battery? A new battery needs three charge cycles to attain normal performance.
- Is it an old battery? Replace the battery.
- Is it a battery that hasn’t been completely discharged? Allow the battery to fully discharge (until the phone turns itself off) and then charge the battery overnight.
- Are you using your phone in extreme temperatures? At extreme hot or cold temperatures, battery performance is significantly reduced.
My Iridium 9505A displays check card or insert card?
- check that the SIM card has been inserted correctly.
- The contacts of the SIM card maybe dirty. Turn the phone off, remove the SIM card and rub the contacts with a clean cloth. Replace the SIM card in the phone.
My Explorer 700 cannot be switched on, or does not stay on when powered by the battery?
- The battery needs recharging. Recharge the battery. Check the battery indicator in the display.
- The battery is not inserted properly. Remove the battery and re-insert it. Make sure the battery is inserted properly and that the latches are locked.
- The battery contacts are dirty or damaged. Clean the battery contacts if necessary.If the contacts are damaged, replace the battery.
My Explorer 700 cannot be switched off?
- The Power button was not pressed long enough. When you switch off the EXPLORER 700, hold the power button until the display shows “Switching off”. In rare cases, it may take up to 10 seconds to switch off the EXPLORER 700.
The green power indicator of my Explorer 700 flashes rapidly while the battery is charging?
- The temperature is below 0°C or above 45°C. Only charge the battery when the temperature is within the range 0°C to 45°C.
- The charging voltage is less than 9 V. Wait until charging begins (the green Power indicator lights constantly). If the battery is completely discharged, and it has been out of use for a long time, the charging process may take a long time to start. If charging does not begin within 2-3 hours, contact 2connect-IT, or purchase a new battery.
The display of my Explorer 700 shows "insert SIM"
- The SIM card is not present. Remove the battery and insert the SIM card in the SIM slot.
- The SIM card is not inserted properly. Remove the SIM card and re-insert it.
- The SIM card is inserted in the wrong SIM slot. There are two SIM slots, marked USIM #1 and USIM #2. Make sure the SIM card is inserted in the SIM slot marked USIM #1.
The display of my Explorer 700 shows "no GPS fix"?
- The EXPLORER 700 is unable to register on the network, because the GPS position is unknown. Make sure the view to the GPS satellites is not blocked. To obtain GPS fix, the EXPLORER 700 should be placed flat on an even surface pointing straight upwards, with a clear view to as much of the sky as possible. When the EXPLORER 700 has obtained GPS fix, you can point the antenna towards the BGAN satellite. To see the GPS status, enter the menu system and select PROPERTIES > GPS STATUS.
The display of my Explorer 700 shows "emergency only"?
- The BGAN network is only available for emergency calls. The reason may be one of the following:
1. Your Airtime subscription has expired. Check your subscription with 2connect-IT.
2. You are using the wrong SIM card. Check that your SIM card is valid for communication on the BGAN network.
My Explorer 700 cannot obtain its position using GPS?
- There is no GPS signal, or the signal is weak. If the EXPLORER 700 has not been used recently within the same location, it can take up to 10 minutes to obtain the GPS position. Check the GPS status in the display or the web interface. To help the EXPLORER 700 obtain GPS fix, it should be placed flat on an even surface pointing straight upwards, with a clear view to as much of the sky as possible. When the EXPLORER 700 has obtained GPS fix, you can point the antenna towards the BGAN satellite.
I cannot establish an Internet connection on my Explorer 700?
- The signal strength is too low. Check that the antenna is pointed according to the position data. Adjust the position to the highest signal strength you can obtain. As a rule of thumb, you should have a signal strength of 50 dBHz or more to be able to make a call or data session.
- Check your TCP/IP settings in the LAN connection, this should be obtain an IP address automatically and obtain DNS server address automatically.
I cannot access the web interface on my Explorer 700?
- The browser is configured to use a proxy server. For Microsoft Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and uncheck Use a proxy server for your LAN.
- You have entered a wrong IP address. Check the IP address (default IP: 192.168.0.1) and re-enter it.
I cannot establish an phone/fax connectionn from my Explorer 700?
- The interface is disabled in the EXPLORER 700. Enable the interface by entering the display menu system and selecting SETTINGS > INTERFACES > PHONE/FAX > ON, or by accessing the web interface and selecting SETTINGS > Phone/Fax > Enabled.
- The cable is not properly connected. Connect the cable.
- Incoming calls: The call type used for the call is not selected in the web interface. Make sure the call type used for calls to the EXPLORER 700 is selected in the web interface. Access the web interface and select SETTINGS> Phone/Fax. Then select the call type for incoming calls.
I cannot establish a LAN connection with my Explorer 700?
- The interface is off in the EXPLORER 700. Enable the interface by entering the display menu system and selecting SETTINGS > INTERFACES > LAN > ON, or by accessing the web interface and selecting SETTINGS > LAN > Enabled.
- The cable is not properly connected. Connect the cable or use another Ethernet cable.
- Check your TCP/IP settings in the LAN connection, this should be obtain an IP address automatically and obtain DNS server address automatically.
I cannot establish a WLAN connection with my Explorer 700?
- The WLAN interface is disabled in the EXPLORER 700. Enable the interface by entering the display menu system and selecting SETTINGS > INTERFACES > WLAN > ON, or by accessing the web interface and selecting SETTINGS > WLAN > Enabled.
- Your computer or is placed too far away from the EXPLORER 700. Bring the computer closer to the EXPLORER 700. Note that the specified maximum distance is only valid under ideal conditions.
- You have not yet entered the country code for your WLAN. Access the web interface and select SETTINGS > WLAN. Then enter the country code for your present location and click Apply. For further information, see Configuring the WLAN interface on page 119.
- You are using Bluetooth and WLAN simultaneously (WLAN mode 802.11b/g, 2.4 GHz) Do not use Bluetooth and WLAN simultaneously, or change the WLAN mode to 802.11a (5 GHz) if possible.
